1. To ask the Taoiseach if he will provide a list of houses and shops in towns or villages that were identified as being vacant on the occasion of the last census in 2022, by-county, in tabular form. [17943/25]

The total stock of habitable permanent housing in Census 2022 was 2,112,121, of these 1,480,414 were in the 867 towns listed in the attached table, with the remainder in rural areas. The housing stock is made up of permanent, habitable dwellings and excludes derelict buildings and mobile or temporary dwellings such as caravans and mobile homes.

All data obtained by the CSO is treated as strictly confidential and protected by law. Data collected by the CSO can only be used for statistical purposes. Statistical results may not disclose details of any identifiable person, household, or enterprise. The attached table contains the occupancy status of dwellings collected in the census for the 867 towns and villages as defined by the CSO. The census does not collect data on the occupancy status of shops.
