A core objective of IDA Ireland is to enable, influence and deliver a competitive property offering which promotes national economic investments, supports winning Foreign Direct Investment, and the growth and expansion of indigenous clients within the Enterprise Ireland or LEO portfolio. In this regard, the IDA keeps its land holdings under constant review and, in doing so, seeks opportunities to partner with Local Authorities and the private sector to deliver competitive property solutions in many regional locations across the country.

For County Offaly, the success of the IDA Business and Technology Park in Tullamore is clearly demonstrated by investment wins from clients such as Steris, Sennheiser, Integra Life Sciences and Zoetis.

As client requirements continue to evolve, there is a necessity and market imperative for the IDA to have serviceable site solutions to support the initial and the long-term investment plans of their current and future FDI and Enterprise Ireland client base. To this end, the IDA has advised me that it is focused on securing additional lands in the Midlands Region and continues to explore options to identify and secure suitable lands aligned with investor needs in collaboration with Offaly County Council.

Furthermore, in its new IDA Strategy for the years 2025-2029, which I launched this week, the IDA has committed to partnering with the local authority on delivering an Advanced Planning Permit arrangement for Tullamore.
