204.To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport in light of the rising issues surrounding parking during major events, if there are any specific plans being developed to manage future events at Croke Park, including the provision of designated parking areas and alternative transport solutions.[34112/24]

While my Department is responsible for national parking legislation, day-to-day decisions on the installation and management of parking on public roads are taken by the relevant local authority. In addition, under section 36 A of the Road Traffic Act 1994, a road authority, in this case Dublin City Council, may make bye-laws for parking in respect of specified events, such as matches or concerts.
In relation to the Deputy’s proposal on exploring alternative travel solutions to the stadium, Dublin City Council’s Guidelines for Event Organisers, www.dublincity.ie/residential/arts-and-events/events-dublin-city/guidance-event-organisers, state that advice should be sought from public and private transport companies and the National Transport Authority.
These issues are matters for Dublin City Council and the event organiser. As Minister of State, I have no role in devising such strategies. Accordingly, the Deputy may wish to bring his query about Croke Park to the direct attention of Dublin City Council.
