Ongoing and strategic political engagement with the United States is a priority for the Government and a key objective under Ireland's 'Strategy for the US and Canada 2019–2025'.
There is regular engagement between our respective administrations on a range of issues through our respective Embassies in Washington and Dublin. There is also significant engagement by our network of eight Consulates across the United States with state level officials such as mayors of important cities.
We opened our newest Consulate in the US in October 2022 in Miami, Florida. Since then, staff of the Consulate, including the Consul General, have engaged at all political levels across the state of Florida.
