I can advise the Deputy that the person referred to originally made a visa application, on 5 January 2024 which was granted on 30 January 2024. They then entered the State on 25 March 2024 and were given a 90 day permission to make an application for permission to remain in the State on the basis of EU Treaty Rights.

The person referred to by the Deputy applied for permission to remain on 8 April 2024, however, they left the State shortly after submitting their application.

The person concerned applied for a further visa which was received in the Ankara Visa Office on 13 May 2024. This visa application has been granted and the sticker was placed in the applicant’s passport on 10 June 2024.

Their application for permission to remain is amongst many to be considered at present and, as such, at this point in time, it is not possible to provide a specific indication as to when their case will be finalised. However, they can be assured that there will be no avoidable delay in having their case brought to finality.

It should be noted that the person concerned is required to notify the EU Treaty Rights Unit of my Department of any absence from the State which exceed one month. Such notifications may be notified in advance of travel, however are required no later than 7 days after the period of one month has elapsed.
