To ask the Minister for Rural and Community Development the number of clerical officers and clerical assistants in his Department on temporary contracts by years of service; if these officers will be offered permanent positions in the civil service when they have served a fixed period of time; and if he will make a statement on the matter. There are two currently temporary Clerical Officers employed in my Department. Both of these employees are employed are on a contract of six months duration to carry out a specific role for the six month period. They will not be offered permanent positions and the contracts will not be renewed or extended when they expire.
