155. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the reason she instructed a school (details supplied) in Dublin to restrict priority enrolment to Dublin 2 and 4, in view of the fact that the school is seeking a permanent site in Dublin’s Docklands area; and her views on allowing the catchment area to extend to Dublin 1, in order not to discriminate against those resident in the north docklands area. The criteria for the recognition of new schools specifies that a patron must confirm willingness to enrol children from the area for which the Department has identified the need for the school. The school in question was established to help meet the demographic increases in the general Dublin 2 and Dublin 4 areas.

With regard to permanent accommodation, due to the commercially sensitive nature of site acquisitions generally it is not possible to give any indication of site location or other information at this time.
