Question 58: To ask the Minister for Health if there have been changes for those who are being cared for under the long term illness scheme whereby some medications associated with their condition are no longer being paid for by the Health Service Executive; if so the instructions he has given to the HSE in relation to same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the Long Term Illness Scheme the HSE provides drugs, medicines and medical and surgical appliances without charge to patients with specified conditions for the treatment of that condition. There have been no changes to the scheme.
