553. To ask the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth if his Department ever had a contract with a company (details supplied) in 2023 and to-date in 2024; if so, what services this company provided on behalf of the Department; and the amount paid by the Department for that service during the period in question. Please note that the Department does not hold contracts with security providers who provide security services at IPAS accommodation centres. Security arrangements at IP centres is the responsibility of the centre manager and it is a commercial decision for the provider as to which security company they choose to contract in meeting this obligation.
The International Protection Accommodation Service advises all potential accommodation providers of the need to provide sufficient security to protect their property while the appraisal process is underway, and furthermore, to the requirement to maintain the safety and security of the IP applicants for whom they will be providing accommodation once contracted.
