Jobseekers Benefit may be transferred to another EEA member state for up to 13 weeks (78 days), if the person concerned is looking for work there. The Person Concerned must, before leaving, have been registered as an unemployed Jobseeker with the Department Of Social Protection for at least 4 weeks.

The person concerned must complete a U2 form (formerly E 303) - "the authorization to export their unemployment benefits"in their Local Intreo Office prior to leaving. This authorization must be approved prior to travel.

On arrival in the new country, The Person concerned needs to register as a jobseeker with the National Employment Services within 7 days from the date on which they ceased to be available to the Employment Services in the country they left. They must submit their U2 form (formerly E 303) when they register.

The same payment amount will then be paid directly into their bank account by EFT in the country where they became unemployed. They may transfer their JB payment more than once while they are unemployed provided they do not exceed the maximum period of 13 weeks.
