My role and that of my Department in relation to tourism lies primarily in the area of national tourism policy development and securing resources to assist the tourism agencies, Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Ireland, in the implementation of that policy.

With regard to the administration of the EU Just Transition Fund, the Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly (EMRA) is the Managing Authority and Fáilte Ireland is an Intermediate Body tasked with the implementation of a Regenerative Tourism and Placemaking Scheme in the period 2023-2026. Accordingly, I have referred this question to Fáilte Ireland to provide any further relevant information directly to the Deputy. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.

In addition, I understand that the Minister for Rural and Community Development has funded an Enhanced Project Development Measure under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme 2024 to carry out a feasibility study related to the hotel referred to by the Deputy.
