I join with the expressions of sympathy to the family of Brendan Daly, whom I considered a friend. He was a great character and an outstandingly dedicated public servant. The stories he could tell about his entanglement in the rod licence affair were legendary. He was a truly wise man with a razor-sharp wit, which many of us experienced over the years.
