It is important to focus here on agriculture and the effect that the climate change Bill will have on it. Teagasc is the main scientific agricultural body that deals with climate change and emissions. We have not invited it to this meeting and it is annoyed about that. On Monday at 10.45 a.m. the IFA will come in here and we could invite Teagasc to come in too.

Does the Deputy mean to bring Teagasc in with the IFA?

Yes.

That is a valuable argument and wherever we find space for Teagasc we have to do that.

Should it not be separate from the meeting with the IFA?
Noel Coonan (Tipperary North, Fine Gael)

Yes we should meet them separately but in that slot.

Teagasc is mentioned in the heads of the Bill.

I am not proposing that we bring somebody else in but the gap is opening up. We have had representatives from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. We should formally ask the Minister if he would like to make a written submission. I do not want to clog up the programme.

Members are suggesting that we invite Teagasc to come in on Monday morning is that agreed? Agreed.

I think we should ask the Minister if he wishes to make a written submission.

It is now Friday afternoon and we are inviting people to come in on Monday morning. Is that feasible?
Catherine Murphy (Kildare North, Independent)

That is fine.
