My Department provides annual funding to the organisation in question to support it in its ongoing operation. While I appreciate the sensitivity of this matter, and I extend to the child in question and her family every best wish for her participation in dancing, as Minister, my Department and I recognise also the autonomy of organisation in relation to the theming and eligibility for entry in their competitions.

I can confirm that the funding allocated to the project in question under the 2018 round of the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme remains available to be drawn down.
I would encourage the applicant to get in touch with my Department at sportsapitalprogrammes@tcagsm.gov.ie if assistance is required.
