30 seats to declare
But all the counts are now closed until tomorrow.
Is it freaky to be doing this for 19 straight hours today?
Surely yes, but *you were watching*. Freak.

Bernard Allen (FG, and near neighbour of mine) and Kathleen Lynch (Lab) re-elected, joining Billy Kelleher
Noel "Jabba" O'Flynn scrapes home without a quota

Green total currently unchanged (net)

...and bumps Callily
...who'll now have more time to enjoy his house, which we understand was recently refurbished.

Seat 5 is now a three-way between Dan Boyle (GRN), who's still not through, Ciaran Lynch (LAB) and John Dennehy (FF)
'Pact' rules would suggest Dan's in trouble at this point but that's not been the way it's gone down elsewhere today
Jerry Buttimer (FG) just went out; Clune and Coveney are currently separated by only 4 votes
Boyle needs 200ish more transfers than Lynch to stay in the race
... nope, he's out. Bugger.
Well, he's probably taken out his old foe John Dennehy (FF) with him and his transfers should push Ciaran Lynch (LAB) over the line
So he didn't fall in vain, at least
And so it was. Dennehy Out, Lynch In.

Brian Cowan FF gets nearly two quotas
Looks like FF3 FG2

McGinley FG takes third seat in Donegal South West from SF.
Pat Carey (FF) and Roisin Shortall (LAB) take final two in Dublin NW

Government parties: 43.6%
FG/LAB/GRN: 42.5%
Half an hour ago it was 43.1% each.
I propose a new law requiring national broadcasters to read the exit polls they commission; this is exactly what it predicted
Also see prediction of same from much earlier today, if you'll excuse me being a smartarse for a moment

"I'll double the PDs representation", said Michael McDowell as he was elected leader
As opposed to losing between 75% and 87.5% of his TD count, which is what's now happening
And, joy of joys, he's now out of the Dail himself.
Ruari Quinn elected
And John Gormley (Green) knocks the Tanaiste onto the scrapheap for a second time.
(Oh, Lucinda Creighton took the other one. Missed that earlier.)

Not Batt "I hate foreigners, me" O'Keefe, sadly
Donal Moynihan jobless

Sean Haughey's just under the quota
Callily may have a problem
Finian McGrath behind but far from out yet.

I wonder who'll top this poll?
Hmm
Who could it be
The suspense is killing me
And
It's........
....
some bloke called Enda.
(And Michael Ring's coming in behind Round 2)

Eamon O Cuiv elected
The lower order is a trainwreck. Michael D's alright though

Mary Coughlan elected round one
She has enough transfers to bring another FF home
FG to take the third
SF bumped

Because we think it's crap, and also
Because it's been down, yet again, for most of today's results.

No-one's in yet but the result's obvious - FF2 FG1 SF1
There's nearly 4k between that lot and McGuinness, who's fifth

Micheal Martin elected on first round, Micheal McGrath joins him
Those of us who live there (Hi Damien) will be amused to see that Simon Coveney's being heavily punished for not showing up for work at the Dail in three years. Looks like he'll get spanked
Dan Boyle's doing alright so far.
[ 3 hours later ]
Seems RTE underreported Coveney's first round showing by over 2000 votes. Scrub that.

Chris Andrews FF elected in round 3
Gormley >1000 ahead of McDowell
That's a very big gap to close. <snicker>
Looks like Ruari Quinn (Labour/More-public-holidays Party) and Lucinda Creighton (FG) are in soon

Harney, somehow, clings on. Here's hoping she'll be on her own...
...though still occupying two seats, no doubt.
And Paul Gogarty (GRN) takes the first Green seat of the day.
Oh, and "TV's Joanna Tuffy" closes the account there.
(for Labour)
